Issue 54
And suddenly it’s August! The year is flying by and many of us can’t wait for it to be over. A recurring message from a lot of artists is that the lockdown has certainly given them some breathing space, and even spare time to pursue new directions. So, although this has been a difficult time, there
are some positives.
Quite unintentionally, we seem to have picked up an animal theme in this issue. There are wildlife paintings by Joni-Leigh Doran and Dawie Mocke; Horses by Carolyn van Schalkwyk and watercolour demonstrations of leopard and zebra by Steve Shooter, and a swallow by Mareli Janse van Rensburg. Staying with nature, Miranda Crooks tells us about her collaboration with Mr Price Home. International artist Julia Kempa delves into the world of insomnia; and there are tutorials for a still life, floral, landscape and a demo on how to paint water and reflections.
Happy painting!
